Kiewit is one of the world’s largest construction companies. In April 2022, they began a 5-year project to expand the Gross Dam Reservoir in Colorado. In 2023, they hired us for multiple projects.

Strategy: Campaign One
Let me set the stage. Kiewit's model for filling roles worldwide requires team members to move every few years. Some bring their families, while others follow the money. At the beginning of every new job, it takes time for the team to settle in, feel comfortable, and trust their new work environment. They're immersed in dangerous conditions, expected to meet unrealistic deadlines, and often required to work long hours. Life at Kiewit is far from easy.
Our first contract was designed to enhance team building and uplift morale. A paid day off for BBQ and an ALOC video were small gestures to help ease the team’s transition and rile up excitement for the job ahead.

Ten training videos
Strategy: Campaign Two
Our second project was a video series. With a growing team and a high turnover rate, they were facing A LOT of training hours. Imagine hundreds of workers completing the same tasks day in and day out. To help expedite onboarding and lower costs, Kiewit decided to work with us to produce a series of training videos focused on concrete production, placement, and compaction. We spent over two weeks straight with the Gross Dam Reservoir crew, capturing every step of the process.
The final result far exceeded the cost of reviewing the exact methods and safety protocols their team lead would train for years.

Our final project included two videos to be played at every orientation. One features a list of stats and information about the Gross Dam Reservoir, while the other is entirely focused on safety.
Hard hats, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses are far from ideal for video production, but we left knowing why Kiewit is one of the biggest and best companies to work for in the US. They treat their people well and go the extra mile to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.
